General

What skills do I need to start?

None. Our lessons start with the basics in each Microsoft Office application, so you don’t need any prior skill using Office.

How long do I get to access the lessons for?

Our Monthly option gives you access to all content for 30 days. If you join us for a year via our Yearly plan, you get full access to all content for 12 months.

What format is the content delivered in?

All our services are delivered online via our website. The lessons are accessed from your account which is made available to you when you join. The content is delivered to you in the following ways:
1. Online video lessons
2. Downloadable files – Some lessons have downloadable files so you can practice what you have learned
3. Online Skills Assessments

How much time does it take to watch the lessons?

Each lesson is typically 2 to 5 minutes in length. You can view the lessons in sequence, or dip in and out of them whenever you need to.

How do I know if I'm progressing?

The system automatically records your progress for you. You can view your progress on the module home pages. Once you’re using Microsoft Office whilst doing the course, you’ll find yourself using shortcuts, utilising more of its functionality, and you’ll be generally a better user fairly quickly. When you’re watching the lessons, the system records your progress and shows you what % of the course you’ve completed, so you can track your learning every time you log in.

Do I need to save my work?

There’s no need. The system remembers for you.

Do I have to complete the lessons in one go?

No. You can complete the course in your own time at your own pace. You can complete the course over as many log in sessions as you want. If you do want to, you can of course complete the entire course in one session.

Is there a time limit to complete the course?

Skills Score

What is a Microsoft Skills Score?

The Microsoft Skills Score is a score you earn based on how many answers you correctly answer in our Microsoft Office Skills tests. There are 1,000 points available.

How much does it cost to take the Microsoft Skills Score test?

There is no additional fee for taking the test. Once your Monthly or Annual subscription is paid, you can take the Skills Test as many times as you wish.

How many tests are there?

There are multiple quizzes for each application, Excel. Word. PowerPoint. OneNote. OneDrive. Mail. and Calendar.

Where do the assessment questions come from?

All questions are taken from a pool of questions relating to that chapter. Two people completing the course may get different questions from the pool. If you retake any assessments it’s possible you may also see different questions the second time around.

What score do I need to pass?

There is no pass or fail, you simply increase your Microsoft Office Skills Score the more points you score in each quiz.

How many attempts can I have at each assessment?

You can take the assessments as often as you like.

Is it possible to fail the course?

No

Dashboard

What is my Dashboard?

Your Dashboard shows you your progress in each module, your score for each module and your total score.

How many points are there available for each test?

Each test has a different number of points allocated to it.
Excel = 300 Points
Word = 200 Points
PowerPoint = 200 Points
OneNote = 100 Points
OneDrive = 50 Points
Access = 50 Points
Outlook = 50 Points
Calendar = 50 Points

What does my Microsoft Skills Score mean?

Your Microsoft Skills score is a representation of your skill level in using Microsoft’s Office applications.
Your score can be anywhere from 0 to 1,000.
950 – 1,000: Office Master.
You have the highest skill levels in all applications.
750 – 949: Office Expert.
Extremely competent in all applications
500 – 749: Office Professional.
Good knowledge, some gaps to fill
250 – 499: Office Specialist.
Development needs in some applications
0 – 249: Office Apprentice.
Requires additional skills in all applications

How long is my Microsoft Skills Score valid for?

You can email a link to your Personal Dashboard to anyone you choose, from here they can see what your total Microsoft Skills Score is, your score for each application, and when the assessments were taken.
If you cancel your Monthly payment, the link will display an empty page.

Can anyone see my score?

Only if you want them to. On your Microsoft Skills Score dashboard, you can choose to set the Dashboard for public viewing with a simple ON/OFF button. The button is defaulted to OFF.

How do I share my Microsoft Skills Score?

On your Microsoft Skills Score dashboard, move the ‘MAKE PUBLIC’ button to ON.
A unique link will now appear beneath button.
You can email this link to anyone you wish. Friends, employers, future employers – anyone.
Many of our members add the link to their Resume, as evidence that they have the relevant Microsoft Office Skills.

If I share my Microsoft Skills Dashboard, what will people see?

Your overall Microsoft Skills Score. Your scores for each application. The date the assessments were taken.

Can I change my dashboard from Public to Private?

Yes, you can. Simply move the MAKE PUBLIC button on the Dashboard to the ‘OFF’ position.

How much does the course cost?

You get access to everything for $1.99 per month

Are there any other fees?

No other fees.

Is payment on your site secure?

Yes. Payments are 100% secured with SSL. Secure payments are powered by Stripe, used by millions of businesses around the globe.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay with any major credit or debit card, or PayPal.

Can I buy the course for someone else?

Yes. When you buy you’ll be asked to create an account for the person that will be completing the lessons.

Do you offer a discount for families?

Yes, you can buy a Home plan for your family. Please visit the Pricing page for more information.

Do you offer a discount for Businesses?

Yes. If you want your employees to be awesome at Microsoft Office, please visit the Business section of the site for more information.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. If for whatever reason the course isn’t for you – and you’ve not passed the course – you can get a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

Technical

What do I need to watch the course?

An internet connection and a device to connect to it. You can complete the course on any computer, tablet or Smartphone. For the best experience we recommend learning on a larger screen device – like a laptop of tablet.

Can I watch the course from more than one computer?

Yes. You can log in from anywhere you like from any device. You progress is stored in our system, not on your computer.

Do I need any special software to watch the course?

No. The courses can be followed using free software that most computers and tablets will have had installed during the course of everyday internet usage

What internet speed do I need to watch the course?

For smooth viewing of the videos, you’ll need an internet download speed of 2Mb  – almost all homes have internet of at least this speed.

Can I watch the course on a tablet or iPad?

Yes.

Can I watch the course on my Smartphone?

Yes. However we recommend that you take the assessments on a larger screen, like a laptop or tablet.

Do you offer technical support?

Yes. You contact our Tech Support team via your Account page or the Contact Us page on the website.

Data Security

What information do I need to provide?

To purchase the course we need your name, email and credit card number

 

Is my personal information secure?

Yes. An encrypted SSL connection requires all information sent between a client and a server to be encrypted by the sending software and decrypted by the receiving software, thus providing a high degree of confidentiality. Confidentiality is important for both parties to any private transaction. In addition, all data sent over an encrypted SSL connection is protected with a mechanism for detecting tampering–that is, for automatically determining whether the data has been altered in transit.

Do you do anything with my data I should know about?

We only use your data to verify that it’s you completing the course. We never send or share any of your data with any 3rd parties.

If there is an enhancement to a course, we may email you to let you know – but that’s it.
